About Mo
I have always loved Math/Science and pursued years of training in order to teach and tutor these subjects. The joy I experience through math and science motivates me not just to teach, but to help my students understand how concepts are related to our career paths and daily lives. My mission is to allow students to become their own tutors and to help them find what works for them.
I was born and raised in Tehran. I graduated from the University of Garmsar in Iran, where I earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. After working in the petroleum industry, I decided to see the world and discover myself.
I continued my education in Computer Science at SJSU. I got promoted to Math/Science Department Head at Fusion Academy. From there, I taught at Winston Prep SFN for a couple of years and currently I am teaching at Marin Catholic.
in 2015, I decided to help more students in the area. I started Mo Math Tutoring and have helped my students privately. I have also offered online tutoring through Zoom. The quality of online tutoring is almost at the same level as meeting in person since I have vast experience training and teaching in a digital environment that requires Online techniques to teach students in an effective way
About Matthew
I grew up in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. I am an engineer in the biotechnology industry, and I specialize in teaching students in the subjects of math and science from middle school through high school. The subjects excite me, and my passions for learning and teaching motivate me to continue to help students excel in their courses. As an industry professional, I can also show students how their classes can apply to their future careers.
I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego in 2013. Upon graduation, I immediately started working in the biotechnology industry in San Diego. In 2014, I decided to return to school to pursue my graduate studies. I moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area, and attended Santa Clara University to obtain my Master of Science degree in Bioengineering. Right when I started graduate school, my tutoring career began. I started working as an in-home tutor to support my graduate studies. It was here where I began to enjoy teaching students in math and science. Seeing students progress and grow through their courses, and succeed on their exams was very fulfilling to see. Upon completion of graduate school in 2015, I returned to working in the biotechnology industry while still working as an in-home tutor.
In 2017, I started working for a tutoring center in Pleasanton, CA as a supplemental job, and in 2020, transitioned to online tutoring through Zoom. I have gained a lot of experience with various teaching methods through the platform.
In 2023, I moved to Marin County. With an active lifestyle, the landscape, the nature, and the vibrant communities attracted me to live here!
After over 9 successful years of tutoring so far, I have gained a wealth of experience in both in-person tutoring and tutoring through Zoom. I take pride in identifying and closing students’ knowledge gaps in their courses. Now as a tutor with Mo Math Tutoring, I look forward to continuing to educate, help, and allow students to reach their goals and aspirations!
